Everything to Everyone 1:36 pm update: I just found a quote I think I may adopt as my new motto. "One of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries" A. A. Milne I have just spent the entire morning and an hour of the aftenoon chasing after something that doesn't actually exist. On the up-side, I finished a really fantastic book last night. I'm always a little bit sad when I finish a good book because I get so involved with the characters and their lives that I never want it to end. I want to find out what happened to them after the story is over. Still, there's definite satisfaction when you find out the conclusion of the story. It's not always a good kind of satisfaction, lots of times I'm unhappy with the ending, but at least I know how it ends. I bought a bunch of new CDs on Wednesday night. Simon and Garfunkle, Life in New York City 1967; Jack Johnson (don't know the name of the cd); and Barenaked Ladies, Everything to Everyone. I'm disappointed with the BNL cd so far, but I've only listened to it twice, so I'll give it a couple more times before deciding for sure. Paul and Art are wonderful, as always, and it's cool to think how young they were when they played this concert. Really not any older than I am now. Makes me feel a little bit ashamed of myself that they were already so involved and interested in the world they lived in and I go to school, go to work, spend time with my loved ones and not much else. But there's merit in that too. Jack Johnson is an artist I'm not really familiar with, but I like this album so far. Apparently he's from Hawaii. My dad bought a jumbo box of rice krispie squares. I must say they're just as good as home made. I've eaten six in the last 24 hours. Hooray for fat-free sugary treats! |
