My poor thumb! I have a boo-boo. The weapon? A hammer. The perpetrator? Me. Yes, I hit my own thumb with a hammer while altering a pair of pants and now I have a blood blister. Why was I using a hammer to alter a pair of pants? To puncture the material for the eyelets I was putting in. The waist in the pants was too small, but I like the pants and I didn't want to give them up. So, I opened the side seam for the first six inches or so and put in eyelets along the edge and then laced them up. Of course, now you can see my panties, but since they're bar pants, that's probably ok. It was full light this morning driving to work, and the air didn't have the winter bite to it anymore. I love the beginning of spring. I also anticipate it too early every year. Intellectually I know that it's still February and we'll regress into winter at least one more time before it warms up for good but that doesn't stop me from singing in the morning when the sun is up before I leave the house. I've been singing a lot lately. I've been happy a lot lately. Maybe it's because I love a boy? I love it when you can tell by the way someone answers the phone that they're really happy to hear from whoever's calling. One of the girls who works in my office gets calls from her boyfriend on a semi-regular basis and I can always tell when it's him on the line. It makes me happy that other people are happy. *sigh* You'd think that after nearly three years I'd be less gushy. |
