The Recap Life is good for me at the moment. I got paid today, and it's a nice amount. Last week was also my birthday week, so many nice things happened to me such as a lovely dinner out with my family, flowers delivered to me at work and new hiking sandals. Plus, we had no flood damage to any of our property, nor did my nearest and dearest. And on top of all of that, we went camping this past weekend and we're going again next weekend. Hooray! We went camping in Kananaskis Country, near the Upper and Lower lakes. The weather wasn't super fantastic, but it also wasn't terrible. We sat around the fire, went on a couple of easy hikes, spend Saturday afternoon in Banff at the hot springs and the candy store, went to a show at the campground amphitheater to learn about fish and then packed up Sunday at lunch. Nothing terribly exciting happened, but that's really how I want my camping weekends to be. The rain last week had some very photogenic consequences. Here's some photos for everyone's viewing pleasure.
Alberta is officially flood watch free as of 11:30 am Satuday morning but we're expecting another 20 mm of rain overnight so that may change. The sheer volume of water falling from the sky is totally unreal. I'm beginning to feel like I'm still living on the coast. However, aside from the flooding, I'd prefer cloudy skies and cooler temperatures to the heat they're having on the East Coast. |
