An adventurous Saturday afternoon I just told someone I was a pathetic excuse for a person yesterday. I suppose it's true, too. I slept in someone else's bed last night. With two extra people. I was one cute girl in a "cute girl sandwich". My buddy from Texas got to be the meat. I mean the meat in the figurative sandwich and nothing else! Anyway, as fun as this was, the mattress was uncomfortable, and I spent most of the night squashed against the wall with no blanket. So, the product of that was extreme sleepiness in addition to extreme hangover. Nice job. Then, in the morning, Texas (no wait, we're calling him Austin now) discovered his contacts had been thrown out. Of course, it was a bad move to leave them in a glass of water next to the sink in the bathroom but it was too late to do anything about it at that point.
So, I volunteered to drive Austin home in his car. Not a big deal if he lived in the city, but he doesn't. So, with a little help from the boyfriend (namely, following me in his car all the way to Austin's house and then driving me back to my car) I got him home safely. The drive wasn't bad though. Austin still lives where I grew up so it was fun to see the old neighbourhoods. But I didn't drive back past my old house. I am still far too emotionally attached to it to see any changes they might have made. Then, once home, I sat in front of the TV before going to bed. A good sleep after a good party is always such a fulfilling thing. Today, I feel really good, even if it is snowing...again. |
