Navigate the Streets Some days at work I feel like I must come across as a know-it-all. It's frustrating because I do know a lot more about the things we're doing at work, and I don't know how to share without sounding bossy. Especially if they're discussing something I know the answer to, but they haven't asked me about it. Should I interrupt or wait until they ask? Sigh. Over the weekend I navigated the streets and came in 11th out of around 20 teams. Not too terrible, seeing that we ran for almost no time at all. The clues were interesting, I learned some things and saw some parts of the city I'd never been to before. We even gained the sympathy of a bus driver who made sure we got to the finish on time. I'm not sure if I would do it again, but then they're not sure that they're going to run it here again, so I guess we're even. I am a tad bitter about one question, which they say we solved wrong. I think we solved it properly and they're wrong, but they gave us credit for it anyway so I'm not complaining too much. We also won a door prize probably worth more than the $70 entrance fee, which makes me feel good. A basket full of natural supplements. Unfortunately, I don't know what their intended purpose is. There's something called Adrena+, which I assume is some sort of energy thing, and something called Greens+ which I assume is all the good things you get from eating green vegetables. There's also fish oil pills which is good for you I guess, and whey protein powder, which is also good for you. Oh, and fat metabolising pills. Plus a $50 gift certificate for more of the same. I figure it's probably worth close to $150, which is not bad for the team who came in very last of all teams who actually finished. So, good for us! |
