The Stampede promotes drunkeness We had a Stampede lunch today at work. There was beef on a bun and chili and salad and cake. It was quite tasty. There were also beer and coolers for sale, and they had the best deal highlighted: 3 for $6. It's not every day your place of employment encourages you to drink alcohol. I didn't drink, because my bosses weren't drinking. I think it's not a good idea to be half cut when the people who keep your paycheques coming. There was also a band. Not just any band, but the Rockbottom Boys. Three employees here got together with their guitars and practiced some cowboy songs. They were quite good, although they don't have a lot of experience with voice projection and the audience was having trouble hearing. Now I have an hour and fifteen minutes left of work and I'm not sure what to do with my time. My supervisor has made it quite clear that he has nothing for me to do until the other girls catch up to me so I've been working on nitpicky details. I don't have a clear picture of what's supposed to be done and where it's supposed to be though so it's feeling quite messy in my head. I'd really like to have this all done but I'm afraid that it's going to drag on until the end of summer. |
